The Villain’s Cruise
By Kburke • Marshall Ave/Lake Street Bridge → John H. Stevens House
Ride Overview
Yesterday’s ride couldn’t have been better — sunny skies, light breeze, and that perfect energy where everyone just feels good to be rolling. We kicked things off at Annie Young Meadow and quickly settled into an easy flow on the Greenway. The mix of city hum and open greenery made the ride feel both lively and calm.
By the time we hit Bde Maka Ska, the water was sparkling, and the vibe was pure summer. From there it was a smooth cruise down to Lake Harriet, where the band shell gave us a nice pause before rolling on. It really felt like the city was showing off every highlight in one loop.
Route Details
We started crossing over the Marshall Ave/Lake Street Bridge, then cut into the Greenway for a fast but relaxed stretch with low traffic. The path carried us through some shaded tree tunnels before opening up by the lakes. Bde Maka Ska was buzzing with walkers, joggers, and folks out on paddleboards — lots of energy but still easy to navigate if you hold your line.
After looping around Lake Harriet, we dipped into Minnehaha Park for a shady detour before cruising into Fort Snelling. That section has some rollers and tighter curves, so you get a nice change of pace. A food stop at Lucky 13 recharged us before the mellow parkway section led us straight to John H. Stevens House. Smooth surfaces, great views, and just enough variety kept things interesting the whole way.
